Artist: French Bread & the Chinamen • Title: Live At the Rams Head • Label: French Bread Music Web: frenchbreadandthechinamen.com reviewed by Bill Wright

French Bread & the Chinamen has just released their debut CD, "Live At The Rams Head". Here we have a band that has been around for over a decade and many of us are just starting to find out about them. Well, sort of. The band originally got together back in 1993 and soon after decided to change its name to "The Other Side". The Other Side played around Annapolis quite a bit through the mid to late 90’s before deciding to call it quits. Well, last year three of the original band members decided to give it another go. The band is now a six-piece and Frenchbread and the Chinamen are back in action. Live At The Rams Head captures the band at its best. The band’s original songs are tight and very well-written with lots of guitar-driven jams topping them off. Mixing together a blend of funk, jazz, folk, reggae and rock into a psychedelic tapestry that will take you on a musical journey. Frenchbread and the Chinamen is what Annapolis has been missing for a long time. A great local jam band to be proud of.
