Emphatic:
106 bpm
2001, Emphatic Music

106 bpm is a rocking CD in the newly
developed EMO format. This CD has it all for the younger listeners
out there. Fat, loud guitars, thumping, tasty bass guitar, and
aggressive, punchy drums. Emphatic is Jay Orem on vocals and guitar,
Chris Fox on bass, and Kris Almgren on drums. The tones on this
CD complement the band's aggressive style without being too in
your space to make you uncomfortable. Both anxiety-ridden and
sullen at times, Jay Orem's voice will pull you into the rage
and disquiet of today's younger audience. With the ability to
go from sweet, lyrical vocal lines to in-your-face screams of
angst, Jay seems to have what it takes to front a band of this
power. I would like a chance to see these guys live soon!!!
